Mauritania has mainly a desert climate, while the South part, the one bordering with Senegal, has a more humid climate and the vegetation is more abundant. This areas is where the hunting camps are located.
The final flight destination for this hunt is Nouakchott. At their arrival, hunters will be met by the local staff, which will be taking care of custom formalities for rifle import. The trips continues by car from Nouakchott, using tarmac roads in good condition for approximately 200km, followed by dirt roads for another two hours approximately until arrival to camp.
The camps are formed by groups of three bungalows, double or single, for hunters, with connected bathroom, with shower and sanitaria.
Hunting is mainly through driven hunts, organized by the camp staff at the outskirts of marshes. Hunting can be done also by waiting at passage points, or by covering large areas with car to locate warthog, and, once located, stalking on foot.
